About me

Hey there, I'm Rachel! I'm a UX/UI Designer based in London. After 8 years in the classroom engaging in user-centred design, I've made the jump into the world of design to use my experience to create products that help people thrive.

📚 Studied user research & UX/UI design with Designlab, graduated September 2023.

⚡ I made this career change because:

I've witnessed the impact technology has on learning and community-building, and I want to be a part of it!
I love taking the time to empathise with users in order to design intuitive solutions.
I want a new challenge applying my research, synthesis, design and advocacy skills.

🧩 Transferable skills I bring from working as a teacher:

Adapting and adjusting to meet user needs (nothing ever goes according to plan in the classroom)
Organising and conducting user research and testing to inform design decisions
Presenting digestible information to stakeholders (Ever taught units of measurement to 5 year olds in a way they’d understand? Or had to deliver a tricky message to parents during pick-up?)
Collaborating and communicating with other departments and diverse individuals
Remaining calm and focused in fast-paced environments

🏝️ Fun fact:
